After spending a fortune on tuition, textbooks, and mealplans, you might find yourself with little to no spare change for fun activities. Being a college student and living on a budget in Louisville doesn’t have to mean being stuck inside your dorm room. Luckily for you, Louisville offers plenty of ways to get out of that four-wall room and have fun without draining your bank account. There are plenty of free events around town, and activities offered at a discounted price.

Here is how you get the most of the city on a budget:

  1. Half- Price Tuesday at the Movies

Going to the movies is always a fun thing to do when you are bored. Although the movies can sometimes get expensive, Cinemark and AMC theaters do half-price tickets all day on Tuesdays, with prices starting at just $6.

  1. Visit the Louisville Walking Bridge

Get some steps in and take a stroll over The Big Four Bridge. The bridge spans over the Ohio River into Jeffersonville, Indiana. This is a great activity to get outside and enjoy the city for free. The bridge offers some amazing skyline views of the city, especially around sunset.

  1. Explore Local Museums for Free

Louisville offers some intriguing museums that are free to Bellarmine students. All you have to do is show your student ID at these local spots:

  1. Join the Louisville Zoo Walking Club

While students regularly get a discounted ticket priced at $25, morning people can get in for free. The Louisville Zoo hosts a walking club from 8 to 9:15 a.m. for free. All you have to do is register at the entrance and get your free walking club membership. Plus, it’s just five minutes away from Bellarmine’s campus.

  1. Catch a Friday Night Louisville Bats Game

Score tickets to the Louisville Bats game at the Slugger Field for as low as $6. The Louisville Bats offer a college student discount for every Friday game. Games include a special gametime Happy Hour and live music.
